In February 2020 I will be leading a Yoga retreat holiday in Goa.
India is my favourite place in the world, I have been to Goa and stayed in this resort several times before.
Our venue is Leela Cottages, Ashvem Beach, Morjim, North Goa; a boutique resort, the accommodation, as the name suggests, are individual wooden cottages, each one with an individual look and feel. This is a stunning beachside location and the Shala where we will enjoy our yoga practise is a beautiful well-equipped space.
“Leela Cottages is a boutique beach resort nestled within the pristine coastline of Ashvem, North Goa, which is truly one of Goa’s most talked about, picturesque beaches. We embrace Goa’s much celebrated beach culture and adapt it to suit the aesthetics and sensibilities of the enlightened and worldly traveller.
The resort has been created with and emphasis on traditional Indian artefacts, with beautifully handcrafted accommodation, offering contemporary food, yoga and spa facilities set within a lush coconut grove with a “jungle feel” minutes from the seafront.
The accommodation is a unique mix of rustic luxury with interiors and exterior features consisting of antique wooden doors from the palaces of Rajasthan, sculptures of Indian deities, charming vintage furniture and Indian traditional and contemporary art, which have been sourced from around the subcontinent. Guests can choose their accommodation, each with their own individual style and charm. There are 24 cottages of four categories – Deluxe, Luxury, Grand and Beach Suites.
Ashvem is known to be a prime North Goa destination with some of the best restaurants, designer boutiques, bars and charming Goan beach shacks set against a backdrop of the swaying palm trees and natural landscape.
Indulge yourself in Goan paradise…”
We will start our day with yoga practice first thing in the morning and another practise early evening allowing an hour to freshen up and change before dinner. In your free time you will be spoilt for choice, explore the glorious beach by sunbathing and relaxing or enjoy walking along this wide and very long beachfront. You may want to book yourself a spa treatment (details and prices in resort). There are boutiquey shops and funky bars to explore or enjoy the simple pleasure of a swim or paddle in the Arabian Sea.
On Saturday evenings there is a night market close by in the town of Arpora, filled with fascinating stalls where you can grab a bargain on all manner of treats, clothing, jewellery, carvings, pictures and much, much more, at very affordable prices!

You did a brilliant job facilitating & teaching the Yoga Retreat. I liked starting with sitting & the Anusara prayer -- a good way to anchor each class. The poems you read out were inspiring. In fact, your structuring was perfect -- a more vigorous class in the morning working towards a challenging posture and then variety in the afternoon-- I personally really like partner work -- people get to know each other & learn in a different way. Great to finish with a Yoga Nidra. I felt very comfortable with your directions & confidence in teaching -- nothing you did made me nervous -- you knew what you were doing & we could relax. Thanks for a great time.
The Norfolk retreat was really amazing. I thought doing yoga at 7:30 was going to be hard but on the contrary, it left us energised and ready to face the day. The sense of achievement was great 😊. Food was fantastic. The bonus was knowing so many new friends with something in common - love life from within! Thank you, Mandy, for being so patient and making this retreat so memorable!! Love the little poem towards the end of each session.
